The tourist center Zlatibor is located in the southwest of Serbia, it is 230 kilometers from Belgrade, 79 kilometers from Čačak, 24 kilometers from Užice, 68 kilometers from Prijepolje.

By car or bus: Zlatibor is located on state road IB row no. 23, which connects Čačak, Užice, Prijepolje and Montenegro. A highway was built from Belgrade to Požega, which significantly shortens the driving time. The highway in the direction of Kraljevo and Kruševac, the so-called, is under construction. Moravian Corridor. The bus station is located in the center of Zlatibor. Zlatibor is connected by regular bus lines to all major cities in Serbia, BiH and Montenegro.

By rail: The area of Zlatibor is located on the Belgrade-Bar railway. The easiest connection is the Užice railway station, and the closest connection is the Zlatibor railway station, about 5 kilometers from the center of Zlatibor. Regional passenger trains are currently running on the route Belgrade Center – Prijepolje and the international train Belgrade – Bar. It is necessary to ask which category of trains stop at the Zlatibor railway station.

When you climb to the top of Tornik by gondola, the view from above will leave you breathless. From the top you can see Durmitor, Jahorina, Tara, Ribnica Lake, the peaks of Čigota and Murtenica, the villages of Jablanica, Dobroselica, Stublo, Semegnjevo, the village of Zlatibor… While you enjoy the view, refresh yourself with warm homemade tea or some natural juice. You can spend your time at the top of Tornik in one of the bars, but also in the clearing if you bring a blanket and thermos with you. While you are on Zlatibor, you must visit the Stopića cave, a natural well in the corridors of which, during a kilometer and a half long walk, you will pass through five unique units where impressive cave openings, decorations and sinkholes stand out. Experience the tradition in the museum of the Old Village of Sirogojno

If you are tired of fast life, technology and city noise, the open-air museum Staro selo Sirogojno represents a true oasis of peace. In the museum, you will have the opportunity to see the way of life in old Serbian households, find out what “kačara” and “mišana” are, how homemade bread and milk are actually made, as well as the secrets of crafts that were passed down from generation to generation by blacksmiths, potters and basket makers. As part of the museum, there is also a shop where you can buy handicrafts and items made by hand by village artisans so that they resemble museum exhibits.

The waterfall in Gostilje – a fairy-tale scene throughout the year

Twenty-five kilometers south of the center of Zlatibor is the Gostilje Waterfall, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Serbia. Regardless of whether you visit the destination in winter or summer, this 22-meter-high waterfall is a unique attraction all year round. During the summer, you will feel a cold aura near it that strengthens the spirit and body, and in the winter, when you see the idyllic scene of frozen water, you will have the impression that you are in a fairy tale. There are households and restaurants near the waterfall, so don’t miss to try a large number of local specialties from the nearby ethno-restaurant.

In the heart of Zlatibor is Dino Park, a theme park where visitors’ imaginations become reality. Here, the little ones will have the opportunity to see twenty replicas of dinosaurs and find out how cavemen lived, while older visitors will enjoy many exciting activities such as a zip line, 6D cinema and quad biking.

Near Dino Park there is another park with unusual content – Adventure Park. The largest park of this type in the Balkans is located in a pine forest. The polygons where you will experience adrenaline experiences are divided into six levels of difficulty, which is why fun is guaranteed in the park for all generations. From practicing coordination by overcoming obstacles, crossing suspension bridges by bike, to zip lines and riding in hanging baskets, Adventure Park is a place where memories are made for the whole family in a healthy environment and in the most fun way. Both Dino Park and Adventure Park also offer organized programs for children where, in addition to motor skills, children will practice team spirit and leadership skills.

Just as Dino Park brings the Jurassic World to life, El Paso City will make you feel like you’re in a Western movie. This theme park is located 14 km from the center of Zlatibor and is divided by the river into two units, one depicting American culture from the mid-19th century and Serbian traditional villages from the same period. In the cowboy town, you’ll see replicas of the sheriff’s office, a saloon where it’s easy to imagine cowboys playing poker to the sound of a piano, and there’s also a bank, a post office, a jail, and a barber shop. Where there is a cowboy town, there must also be an Indian village nearby that bears the name of the most famous chief – Sitting Bull. Complete the adventure with an overnight stay in stylish caravans and Indian tents. On the other side of the river, the village of Zlatibor, traditional log cabins and an Orthodox church await you, an environment where you will have the opportunity to rest in silence and feel the spirit of the tradition of these regions.

Mokra Gora – A combination of fairytale, traditional and modern

While you are on Zlatibor, do not miss to visit Mokra Gora. This mountain village is located halfway between Zlatibor and Tara. One of the best ways to experience its natural beauty is to ride the Šargan Eight, a narrow-gauge railway whose shape is made to resemble the number eight. Just like in the good old days, you will ride in an old-fashioned train and listen to the whistle of the steam locomotive and the beat of the sleepers from the wooden compartments. On this unforgettable journey, you will pass through 22 tunnels and from five viewpoints you will be able to photograph all the beauties of the Zlatibor area. 

The Mećavnik settlement with the Drvengrad tourist attraction is also located on Mokra Gora. It is especially important to point out that in 2021, the World Tourism Organization of the United Nations declared Mokra Gora the most beautiful village in the world in competition with 170 villages from 75 countries. This attraction was built by one of the greatest Serbian directors, Emir Kusturica, based on the model of the ancient city of Ephesus, in accordance with the nature and traditions of the region. In Drvengrad, be sure to try homemade juices, organic vegetable salads, dairy products, obtained from herds that graze at over 1,400 meters above sea level, and other top-quality specialties. Although it is located in an idyllic natural environment, accommodation facilities in Drvengrad have Wi-Fi signal and optical cables, which makes this place especially attractive to digital nomads. The nearby ski resort “Iver” is the first ski resort in Serbia to install an artificial snowmaking system. Also, “Kustendorf”, an international film festival that gathers important figures from the world of seventh art, is held every year in Mećavnik.
